  • Faithful Navigator SK Caleb Strittmatter opened the meeting at 1900 hours. There were 19 Sir Knights with id cards and rosaries in attendance.

  • Minutes of the 16 July meeting was read by SK Krawczyk. A motion was made to accept the minutes as reported; the motion was seconded and passed by unanimous vote.

Report of Faithful Comptroller (SK Decker)

  • The only bill presented was for the refreshments and snacks for the Installation ceremony with our Southport brothers which preceded the general meeting.

Patriotic Reports

Veterans Support –SK Ludgate

  • No Veterans report but emailed Mud Run event post meeting. See Newsletter for more information.
  • NOTE: Given the beginning of the school year plans are for a Passing of the Colors ceremony for St Mary and St Mark schools. Tentative date for the St. Mary ceremony is 08 September; no date for St Mark ceremony. Update to be provided when confirmed.

In God We Trust - Deanery support - (SK Strittmatter)

  • At the 26 July Deanery meeting, SK Strittmatter & District Master SK Horvat presented the Scholarship Program to pastors attending. Deanery’s support was requested both financially and with marketing material emailed to families. The pastors were asked to contribute or commit by September towards $10,000 goal. Big thanks to Fr. John for the invite. By 15 September, letters will go out soliciting Assembly member funding for pastor to ponder match.

Fundraisers (SK Macaluso)

  • Raffle tickets will be ready shortly; a discussion was held re how to distribute tickets to the Councils. A suggestion was for a SK to hand deliver the raffle tickets to each Grand Knight.

Fraternal Social Report (SK Weisgerber)

  • Discussion was held re venue location for the 2022 Christmas Party. The choices were Porter’s Neck Club or the current South Beach locations. A vote was taken and the 2022 Christmas Party will be held at South Beach Grill on Wrightsville Beach.
  • A proposal for a group of SKs to attend a live showing of Annie (either 28/29 January) at the Wilson Center. Any interested SK should contact SK Weisgerber. An email to the Assembly will be forthcoming.

Trustees Report (SKs Decker, Macaluso, Plarre)

  • SK Decker reported that the audit was completed on July 23 and submitted by then Comptroller Backes.

Unfinished Business

Call for election of officers (SK Strittmatter)

  • Comptroller: SK Greg Decker: SK Decker’s name was submitted as Comptroller; nominations were closed, and SK Decker was unanimously voted as Comptroller.
  • One Year Trustee: SK Charlie Backes; SK Backes’s name was submitted as One Year Trustee; nominations were closed, and SK Backes was unanimously voted as Trustee.
  • There were no floor nominations for either position.

New Business

  • Changing budgeting process from calendar to fiscal year: A discussion was held whether to change the budgeting process from the Fraternal year to a calendar year process. A vote was taken to remain on the Fraternal year process.
  • Electronic voucher approval process sync with Supreme: A discussion was held re changing Assembly voucher system to be in sync with the Supreme process. A vote was taken to change Assembly voucher system to that of Supreme.
  • Change meeting to 3rd Mon-Wed-Thur to avoid Mass conflict –all: A discussion was held to change the meeting dates from Tuesday to either Wednesday or Thursday. A vote was taken to change the meeting dates to Wednesday.
  • Motivating attendance & participation in fraternal events – all: A discussion was held to re various opportunities to engage other SKs to attend meetings and/or socials such as a bowling or pool social. A tentative bowling social will be subject of a separate meeting.

Report of Third Degree Councils

1074 Wilmington (ICC/BSSM)

  • No Report

11817 St. Stanislaus

  • Tentative confirmation of (triple) Star Council award.
  • A July installation ceremony was held.
  • Polish festival will be held on weekend of 05 November. A request for assistance/help will be subject of a separate notice.
  • Council is exploring a reflection event during Lent. Details to follow.

12017 St. Mark

  • The council will be holding a 25 year Anniversary celebration at their 23 August meeting. Past Grand Knights will be in attendance to celebrate this milestone.

12281 All Saints

  • The council will support the purchase of regalia by rebating $100 to SKs who purchase regalia in an effort to off-set the total cost.
  • Golf tournaments: All Saints would like to participant in all golf tournaments.
  • On 15 October they will be having a yard sale – as such call SK Russ if you have items to sell.

12885 St. Therese

  • Council meetings will begin with an hour of reflection.
  • They will receive the Star Council Award at the 13 September meeting.

12921 Transfiguration

  • Last week Transfiguration celebrated 70 years – oldest church in Wallace.

Good of the Order

  • Captain Bio provided an excerpt from Bishop Sheen.
