Good of the Order – November Reflections
- February may be the shortest month of the year, but it offers us powerful reminders of the virtues we are called to live out as Catholic Patriots and men of faith.
We begin by celebrating Candlemas and the Feast of the Presentation, which remind us that Christ is the light not only of our Church but of the world. As Sir Knights, we are called to bear that light into the public square - to be beacons of truth, charity, and unity in a world that often seems divided and darkened by confusion.
February also brings us Presidents’ Day, a time to reflect on the founding values of our nation and to pray for our current leaders – whether – we agree with them or not. As men of the Patriotic Degree, we honor the principle that true patriotism is rooted not in partisanship, but in virtue. It is about standing up for justice, defending life, and protecting religious liberty – always guided by the moral compass of our Catholic faith.
This month also includes Valentine’s Day, a secular celebration of love – but as Knights, we know that love is not sentiment alone; it is sacrifice. The love we are called to show – to our families, our parishes, our veterans, and our country – must be courageous and self-giving.
Let us also prepare our hearts for the season of Lent. May February be a time of quiet interior renewal, as we rededicate ourselves to the service of both God and country.
May we, as Fourth Degree Knights, continue to be witnesses of faith, defenders of freedom, and servants of peace, always seeking to bring light into the world – one act of charity and patriotism at a time.
Vivat Jesus?
